About Our Name
Jade

In ancient China, Jade was traditionally considered to be an extremely valuable commodity, and was used for ornamentation and barter. So special was this substance, that in many early Chinese medical textbooks particularly effective medicinal teas contained the name of Jade.

Mountains in China were traditionally considered to be sacred places of power. Early Chinese physicians, many of whom were Daoist monks, lived deep in the mountains to gain access to this power. And when patients with serious illnesses sought help, they journeyed to Daoist mountain retreats for healing.
